New Emergency Room Entrance Opening December 16 at Mobridge Regional Hospital

Mobridge, SD — Mobridge Regional Hospital & Clinics (MRH&C) is announcing an important update for patients and visitors as part of its ongoing construction and renovation project. Beginning Tuesday, December 16 (specific time TBD), the Emergency Room will officially move from its current location to a new entrance on the north side of the hospital, accessible from the main parking lot off 10th Ave. West.

Temporary signage will be in place to guide the public to the new ER location while permanent signs are being installed. A map will also be made available to help visitors navigate the updated access points.

While the ER entrance is changing, the front door of the hospital remains the main entrance for all regular hospital and clinic appointments. The new north entrance, however, should now be used by anyone seeking the Emergency Room, and may be used for the Infusion Center, or visiting patients in the inpatient or OB units.

The external door at the new entrance will be open 24 hours a day, but after 5:00 p.m., visitors will need to use the buzzer system for interior access. The entrance is monitored by CCTV to ensure patient and staff safety. The area is fully wheelchair accessible and includes a convenient drop-off zone for those needing assistance.

MRH&C also reminds the community that all private vehicles must enter the parking lot from 10th Ave. West. The highway entrance near PSV is reserved strictly for emergency vehicles and should not be used by patients, visitors, or staff.

Construction will continue through the winter and spring as MRH&C completes the final phases of the project. Anyone with questions is encouraged to call the hospital’s main line at 605-845-3692.

“We appreciate the community’s patience and support as we move forward with these improvements,” said John Ayoub, CEO. “This project is designed to enhance accessibility, safety, and the overall patient experience for years to come.”
