Posted 2/24/22 (Thu)

Diane Dady, pharmacist at Mobridge Regional Hospital and Clinics(MRH&C) is the recipient of the 2022 Gary W. Karel Lecture Award which is the highest lifetime achievement honor a pharmacist can receive in South Dakota. It is awarded by the South Dakota Society of Health-System Pharmacists (SDSHP) to a pharmacist within South Dakota who is an individual of high moral character, good citizenship and high professional ideals who has made significant contributions to health-system pharmacy practice in South Dakota. Diana has been positively impacting health-system pharmacy practices as a pharmacist since 1980.

Those who nominated Diane for this award stated that "as THE hospital pharmacist, she has been on call every day she has been in town. No matter where she was at, or what she was doing, she was always prepared to answer the phone or run into the hospital to help. She not only handled the daily work at Mobridge Regional Hospital pharmacy with grace and skill, she then went to one of the two pharmacies, which she was previously a partial owner of, to do bookwork. She also stepped up for the profession of pharmacy when she was appointed to the South Dakota Board of Pharmacy by Governor Dennis Daugaard in November of 2011."

"Diane is a dream and has been so wonderful to work with! She is a phenomenal asset to our organization and the entire community and such a genuine and caring professional and person!" stated John J. Ayoub, CEO at MRH&C.

SDSHP will be presenting the award to Diane at our SDSHP Annual Conference, which will take place virtually from April 8th-9th, 2022.
