Specialty Clinic Director

Position Summary:
The Specialty Clinic Director is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and strategic development of all specialty services offered by the hospital. This includes both external specialists operating under professional service agreements and internal specialty providers. The Director will ensure operational excellence, drive growth through the addition of new specialties and services, and maintain a strong focus on quality, patient experience, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate scheduling, contracting, and workflow for all external specialists.
- Develop and oversee operations for internal specialty service lines, optimizing efficiency and patient flow; this includes coordination of all necessary support staff.
- Develop and execute strategies to expand specialty offerings, including telemedicine, as well as both medically necessary and cash-based services.
- Negotiate and manage professional service agreements with visiting specialists.
- Collaborate with providers and hospital departments to improve referral patterns and patient retention.
- Monitor service line performance and implement process improvements to enhance profitability and quality.
- Lead marketing and outreach initiatives for specialty services to grow volume and community awareness.
Reporting Structure:
Reports to the Chief Executive Officer; works closely with department leaders, providers, and administrative staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3–5 years of experience in clinic or healthcare service line management.
- Proven ability to develop and grow service lines.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
