Clinicals site for Mountain Plains Health Consortium Paramedic Program

The MPHC Paramedic Program is from August 27, 2009 through December 2010. This program exceeds the Department of Transportation/National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 1998 National Standard Curriculu. This will include approximately 829 hours of lecture, 260 hours of skill labs, 296 hours of hospital and /or field clinical, 248 hours of field internship for approximately 1,633 total hours.

These students will utilize the Medical Career Online Education Center at Mobridge Regional Hospital to complete their courses. This Education Center is equipped with eight laptop computers available to check out within the facility for medical education only.

Mountain Plains Health Consortium is located in Fort Meade, South Dakota and was officially formed in May 1997.  Its purpose is to provide continuing and basic education, as well as other health-related services, to members of the consortium.  The consortium maximizes scarce health education resources by cooperatively providing education for rural health care providers with similar needs. MPHC is the operational name for a partnership between four health education entities. They are as follows:

  • Health Education Development System, Inc.
  • VA Employee Education System
  • VA Black Hills Health Care System
  • Indian Health Service
