Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Opportunity!
This is a full time position offering competitive salary and excellent benefits. Work under the supervision of physicians, performing diagnostic and therapeutic tasks and providing evaluation and treatment to patients in a rural health care setting. Position to include share time between clinic setting, ER coverage, and rotating ER call.
- Must be a graduate of an approved school of Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Must be Board Certified. South Dakota State licensure/certification required.
- ACLS, PALS, and TLS certification preferred.
- Will perform a variety of medical procedures to include but not be limited to wound care and dressing, venipuncture, starting IV lines, bladder catheterization, suturing lacerations, pelvic examinations and tests, incisions, and immobilizing fractures.
- Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals as needed including providing referrals.
- Counseling and educating patients on health behaviors, self-care skills and treatment options.
- Diagnosing and treating acute illnesses, infections and injuries.
- Diagnosing, treating, and monitoring chronic diseases.
- Obtaining medical histories and conducting physical examinations.
- Ordering, performing and interpreting diagnostic studies (e.g.,lab tests, x-rays, EKGs, etc.)
- Prescribing medications.
- Prescribing physical therapy and other rehabilitation treatments.
- Providing prenatal care and family services
- Providing well child care, including screening and immunizations.
- Providing health maintenance care for adults, including annual physicals
