Approximately $10,000 is raised annually at the Fall Festival & Bazaar held the first weekend in November at Schere Howe Arena on Main Street Mobridge. There are a variety of booths to choose from, baked goods, frozen hotdishes and soups, crafts, Red Hatter's booth, Silent Auction and Raffle booth. The Silent Auction and Raffle Booth is filled with beautiful themed baskets for every age. The doors open at 9:00 am and the festivities continue throughout the day with a supper at the Middle School gym, where the silent auction and raffle winners are announced. From this important fundraiser the following equipment has been purchased for Mobridge Regional Hospital & Clinics:
- Bone Densitometer
- Portable Ultrasound Machine
- Stress Test Machine
- Portable Vital Signs Monitor
- Cardiac Monitors
- Birthing Balls
- much more equipment and updates
Along with these many donations the Mobridge Regional Hospital Auxiliary donated funds to create a patient family centered room.
Plans started for this endeavor with an increase in patient's wishing to stay in their homes with family around them at the end of their illnesses. When the patients required more care and assistance then the family was able to provide at home they came to the hospital. Often times the family wished to stay at their family members bedside. With the change of this room the family can comfortably stay with their family member.
One side of the room consists of the patient bed nightstand and table. The other side of the room holds a queen size sofa sleeper, a recliner, closet, counter top with a coffee pot and microwave and a small refrigerator. A warm tone of paint along with a hard wood appearing floor helps give the room a calming demeanor. Our goal is to assist patients as well as their families through the illness allowing them a homier atmosphere and room for the family to be together.
The auxiliary also provides baby gift bags that are given to every mother who has a baby at Mobridge Regional Hospital. The gift bag contains: baby wash, lotion, onesie, diapers, an outfit suitable for the season, blanket and bib.
